EDID & Video Timing Calculator
PixelTach works out exact video timings and bandwidth for live events, and exports EDID files for media servers,
video processors and graphics cards. Enter a resolution and refresh rate to get the pixel clock, front and back porch,
sync pulse width and polarity, then see at a glance which connectors can carry the signal.
- Timings: CVT, CVT reduced blanking (RB v1, RB v2) and CTA-861 standard formats, with exact-refresh clocks for 59.94, 29.97 and 23.976 Hz.
- Connector checks: HDMI 1.4 to 2.2 (TMDS and FRL), DisplayPort 1.2 to 2.1, HD-SDI to 24G-SDI and SMPTE ST 2110 over 10/25/40/100GbE.
- Color: 8, 10 and 12-bit; RGB 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4:2:0.
- EDID: export .bin, .txt or .edid files, or import an existing EDID to read its timings.
- Multi-output canvases: split one picture across several outputs with an EDID per output, including tiled EDIDs (Early Access, in PixelTach Workbox).
- Signal Flow Planner: patch a whole show from source to screen, check every cable against what HDMI, DisplayPort and SDI can carry, and get the signal flow diagram, gear list and cable schedule (PixelTach Workbox, with a free live demo).
The calculator is free in your browser. Support the project: $10 a year unlocks PixelTach Workbox (the Signal Flow Planner and multi-output canvases) and PixelTach Offline, the installable app that works with no internet at the venue. Built by a live-events video engineer.
